What the heck is the difference between a chip and a pitch?

A chip is just around the green and has less airtime and more roll time.

A chip stroke is small in comparison to a pitch, which is essentially a mini swing. A chip is just off the green from the fringe, short hairs or rough.

A pitch is a mini swing.

It requires more rotation than a chip shot. A pitch is typically 30-50 yards from the green and requires more air time to get the ball to its landing area.

A PITCH is typically from the fairway or from the rough.
A CHIP is typically just off the green, on the fringe or from the rough.
