Welcome to Long Game Training

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This More Pars Training is a focus on your long game from the fairway. Our goal from the fairway is solid and long so we can get on the green in regulation.

3 FOCUS AREAS
1. Direction – Accuracy
2. Distance – Compression – angle of attack/ impact point
3. Tempo & Timing for Energy

Misdiagnosing swing woes can send you to the wrong fairway. Instead, let’s truly educate you on the essentials of ball striking so you can see real change in your game. You’ll measure your current technique and process, so you have an accurate starting point. From there, you’ll apply your new knowledge of skills with training. I highly recommend working with a coach during this training or training with Christina through this MorePars.com platform.

Are you ready for GIRs? Let’s get to it!

CERTIFICATION

On completion of your Training, you’ll receive a virtual achievement certificate that you can print and share on social touting your awesomeness!

Course Curriculum

Direction and Accuracy
Striking the ball solid is one thing. Getting the ball to your intended target is as important. Why? The object of the game is getting the ball to its target.

Distance
Hitting the ball far makes the game easier. Instead of a 3-wood into the green, why not a 7-iron!

Tempo & Timing
This topic is under-rated and shouldn’t be. If you just worked on this alone, your ball striking would improve significantly.

What’s Your Target? Striking the ball solid is one thing. Getting the ball to your intended target is as important. Why? The object of the game is getting the ball to its target.

What’s Your Lie?
Knowing what you can and cannot do and how the ball will react is key for achieving more GIRs.

Doubt
If you have any doubt of any kind, your swing will not be as efficient. Learn why and how to focus.

Know Your Numbers
Carry and roll out based on your flight. We’ll chart your numbers too!

 Goals
What are they? Let’s establish short and long term goals for success.

 More GIRs
Getting on the green in regulation will give you the best chance for more pars and birdies.

 Tight Dispersion
Tight dispersion for approach shots and landspots in fairway based on level

If your conflicted, conceptually then you’ll struggle with solid contact. Let’s clear up and misconceptions about the swing so we can clear the way to more GIRs!

Inside to Out
Understanding what the term “inside to out swing path” is a key term. Many players have the opposite: outside to inside path.

Try Less!
Swinging harder (trying harder) will yield better results. A great tip to ditch this thinking.

How the Wrists Work
How they hinge and unhinge…and it may be not what you think.

Grip Pressure
Is it firm enough?

Impact Point
Where you hitting it on the face of your irons, hybrids and woods…oh my!

What are you numbers?
Clubhead speed, ball speed, spin, attack angle and carry distance

Current Ball Flight
Where you starting your ball and what is the curvature and trajectory?

STEP 1 SWING ARC, FACE & PATH
– Understand the Swing Arc
– Face to Path relationship

STEP 2 GET A NUMBER
– What’s the lie and lay of the land?
– How far to carry, if applicable?
– Approach: front of green, flag and back edge
– Where’s the best miss?

STEP 3 ROUTINE
What’s your process pre, during, and post shot? Is it
holding you back or a champion for you?
– Focus on target (not mechanics)
– Commit to your selected plan
– Ditch tension: part lips during swing
– Manage self-talk (positive only)
– Play in synchronicity (right brain vs left brain)

STEP 1: IDENTIFY SWING CHARACTERISTICS
These are your swing tendencies. We all have them. It’s important to identify them:

  • Loss of Posture
  • S- & C-Postures
  • Reverse Spiners
  • Sway & Sliders
  • Over the Toppers
  • Early Releasers & Extenders
  • Chicken Wingers
  • Hang Backers

STEP 2 MASTER SET-UPS
– Irons
– Hybrids & Woods
– Spot-on Alignment

STEP 3: EFFICIENT SWING POSITIONS
Let’s get your desired distance and ball flight with a focus on efficient swing positions.

STEP 4: RHYTHM & TEMPO
It’s the glue that puts your efficient swing positions into one fluid motion.

DRILLS TO FIX THIN & FAT
In this section, let’s get those thin and fat shots outta the bag.

DRILLS FOR BETTER IMPACT
The ball gets airborne and travels far when we compress the ball – smack the ball at the optimal attack angle (down and through). Many players instead, swing up on the ball with their irons (a.k.a early release of the club). Let’s make an impact on your impact in this focused training.

DRILLS FOR MORE CLUBHEAD SPEED
Center-face contact should be your primary focus. Once you achieve that, then we can shoot for more clubhead speed. More speed + center-face = more ball speed and more distance!

Be a Great Ball Striker
This More Pars Training focuses on HOW to get better contact from the fairway with my Lean–Rotate–Extend system that works!

Strategies for Physical Limitations
Most everyone has a physical limitation of some type. This is a great section to work around these limitations as you train to resolve.

More Distance – Get What You Want
Groove your technique! Nick and Christina share their swings with keys to help you with yours! There is no cookie-cutter swing, but there are some essential keys to optimize center-face and efficiency.

Power Leaks – Swing Characteristics & Fixes
What’s your swing tendencies? We call these Swing Characteristics (over the top, casting, sway, slide). We all have them, and that’s okay. The key is to know yours and train to resolve.
