If you want more pars, but struggle from less than solid shots off the tee and fairway, let's take a look at your setup. Many players feel more comfortable opening their shoulders and/or hip slightly (or a lot) at setup. This restricts the takeaway/backswing and tends to make players too steep. The hands nor hips get deep enough during the backswing.
