Takeaway
toe to sky – but watch it

In this Tip of the Week, let’s focus on our clubface

I see too many players with flaring elbows on the takeaway or they hinge incorrectly from the get-go and half-way back that club is shut where the club face is facing the ground. Shut means a closed clubface which means left ball flights..unless you hold on for dear life, which is what I see the most. So feel like you hitchhike with that back elbow and make sure that toe goes more skyward. The face should face slightly to the ground and the toe should be facing more upward. Watch out that you do not fan the cub too open where the grooves face upward. This will tend to open the face at impact. So let’s get to it!
