STEP 4: DRILLS TO FIX THINGS

DRILLS TO FIX THIN & FAT
In this section, let’s get those thin and fat shots outta the bag.

DRILLS FOR BETTER IMPACT
The ball gets airborne and travels far when we compress the ball – smack the ball at the optimal attack angle (down and through). Many players instead, swing up on the ball with their irons (a.k.a early release of the club). Let’s make an impact on your impact in this focused training.

DRILLS FOR MORE CLUBHEAD SPEED
Center-face contact should be your primary focus. Once you achieve that, then we can shoot for more clubhead speed. More speed + center-face = more ball speed and more distance!

Swing Characteristics

The first place to look when ball are not solid is your Swing Characteristics (over the top, casting, sway, slide). We all have them, and that’s okay. The key is to know yours and train to resolve as they affect your shots from the fairway. Head to Strategies for Physical Limitations and Power Leakes & Fixes which dive deep into identifying and resolving your Swing Characteristics. In the meantime, let’s groove better ball striking in this section.
