GET SQUARE: A square clubface at the top of your backswing for solid shots!
A square face at the top of your backswing equates to less work on the downswing. Ideally, the clubface should be parallel with your left forearm. A neutral grip, a good takeaway, and a full turn will make this an easy peasy process.
SQUARE FACE
A result of a good grip, connected takeaway, and shoulder turn.
OPEN FACE
The first thing to check is your grip. A weak grip will open the face at the top of your swing. The dreaded armsy fake turn is another possible culprit.
CLOSED FACE
Check your grip. A strong grip could produce a shut face at the top. Left-arm breakdown is another possible culprit of a shut face at the top.
