Learn how to chip with a hwbrid or Wood. It’s my mother’s favorite from the rough or fringe!
A great choice, mom. The sole of the club is more forgiving out of the rough, and the loft helps get the ball up and onto the green. From there, it rolls like a putt or low running chip. Only try this shot if the ball is on the fringe or sitting up in the rough.
Set up is the same as a chip shot. The ball is ahead of center, and your weight favors the left side. The only difference is that, instead of hitting down, you need to stroke the ball like a putt.Keeping the triangle and hands ahead like a normal chip shot, execute with steady acceleration. Tempo is critical. If you get jerky or too quick, that ball is flying into another ZIP code!
