A common mistake: Not playing enough break. The result is a miss on the low side {a.k.a. amateur side}.
Remember the ball usually breaks the most just at the hole. So give your putt a chance and putt on the high side {a.k.a. pro side}. Every putt is a straight line. Your target should be the apex, where the ball will begin its drop into the hole. Putt to that spot, then let the break take the ball into the hole.
Focus on the high side of the cup!
I trace a line right into the hole, including the side it will drop in on. The more specific and exact, the better your chances.
The key to sinking breaking putts is selecting the spot where the ball will begin its drop toward the hole.
