Here’s how to successfully execute a pitch with a downhill lie!
With a downhill slope, the opposite is true. The slope steals loft. Your ball flight will be lower, and your ball will roll once it hits the green. So select the right club and landing spot on the green.
Angle your shoulders parallel to the hill. Your weight should favor your downhill leg. Play the ball right of center to encourage a clean strike.
Send the clubhead down the slope with smooth acceleration through impact to avoid coming out of the shot.
As you get more comfortable with uneven lies, play with ball positions. These days, depending on the lie, I may play the ball ahead of center instead of back of center. Experiment and see what works best for you.
